Project WATCHMEN

Open Shadows collects and maintains a publicly accessible roster of law enforcement officers across the country called the WATCHMEN Index. We recognize that law enforcement has both the responsible to uphold democracy and the power to undermine it. We believe broad, basic transparency---who carries the badge?--is a basic step to help guard against corruption, extremism, and authoritarianism in law enforcement.

COUNTERACT Campaign

A local-level, direct intervention project, the COUNTERACT Campaign seeks to disrupt and diminish extremist influence in public spaces. We closely monitor IRL extremist activities, share actionable information with the communities under threat, and work with local partners to respond hate groups try to stage public shows of force.
